Acceptance
By using Before You Go, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
What Before You Go Does
Before You Go helps you keep a personal list of things you do not want to forget before leaving home. It can learn which items you often miss and can send a local reminder when you leave your saved home area.
Before You Go is a reminder tool. It is not an emergency service, safety system, medical device, child monitoring tool, location tracking service, or guarantee that you will remember every item.
Your Responsibility
You are responsible for:
- deciding which reminders are important to you;
- checking your own items before leaving;
- keeping your device, permissions, and notification settings working;
- understanding that reminders may be delayed, suppressed, or missed because of operating system behavior, battery settings, network conditions, permission changes, or app bugs.
Location And Notifications
Before You Go may use location, background location, motion-related platform services, and notifications if you enable them.
These permissions are used to support leave-home reminders. They do not guarantee that every departure will be detected.
You can change permissions in iOS or Android settings at any time.
Data And Privacy
Before You Go's data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
In short:
- checklist items and settings are stored locally on your device;
- home location is used to configure leave-home reminders;
- the first release does not include accounts, cloud sync, advertising, third-party analytics, or remote logging.
Acceptable Use
Do not use Before You Go to:
- track another person without consent;
- attempt to bypass operating system permission controls;
- interfere with the app, platform services, or notification systems;
- use reminders as a substitute for professional, medical, emergency, safety, or legal advice.
App Store
If you download Before You Go through Apple's App Store or TestFlight, Apple's terms and platform rules may also apply.
Apple is not responsible for Before You Go's support, maintenance, claims, or platform-service behavior, except as required by applicable law and Apple's own terms.
Availability And Changes
Before You Go may change, pause, or remove features. Some features depend on platform services such as location, geofencing, motion activity, notifications, and app background execution.
Before You Go may be unavailable or less reliable because of operating system changes, permission changes, battery settings, app bugs, or device limitations.
Disclaimers
Before You Go is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Before You Go does not guarantee that:
- every departure will be detected;
- every reminder will be delivered;
- notification timing will be exact;
- checklist items will always be complete or correct;
- platform services will remain available or unchanged.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
Limitation Of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Before You Go and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, missed reminders, forgotten items, missed appointments, expenses, personal injury, or third-party service failure arising from your use of the app.
Termination
You can stop using Before You Go at any time by deleting the app.
Before You Go may suspend or limit features if required by law, platform policy, security concerns, or misuse.
Governing Law
These terms are drafted for an independent app operated from Australia. The final governing-law venue should be confirmed before public release.
Changes To These Terms
These terms may be updated as Before You Go changes. Material changes should be reflected in the app, release notes, or public website before broader public release.
