Terms of Use

The terms for using WheelMark as a bicycle maintenance companion connected to your own Strava data.

These Terms of Use apply to WheelMark, a bicycle maintenance companion app.

Acceptance

By using WheelMark, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What WheelMark Does

WheelMark helps you turn your own ride history into bike and component maintenance signals. It can import Strava activities, match rides to bikes, let you correct assignments, and track mileage or time-based maintenance for bikes, wheelsets, tires, chains, brake pads, drivetrain parts, batteries, and other components.

WheelMark is a maintenance companion. It is not a professional mechanic, safety certification tool, medical device, training coach, insurance product, or emergency service.

Your Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • checking your bike and components before riding;
  • deciding whether maintenance advice is appropriate for your equipment;
  • following manufacturer instructions, torque specifications, pressure limits, and service intervals;
  • using a qualified mechanic when needed;
  • keeping your Strava account and device secure;
  • confirming that imported data and bike assignments are correct.

WheelMark reminders and estimates may be incomplete, delayed, or wrong if activity imports, bike assignments, component setup, or service windows are incorrect.

Strava

WheelMark uses Strava only with your authorization.

WheelMark is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Strava. Strava is a third-party service with its own terms, privacy policy, platform rules, rate limits, and availability.

You must comply with Strava's terms when using Strava with WheelMark. Strava may change API access, scopes, rate limits, endpoint availability, account requirements, or developer program rules. If Strava changes or limits access, WheelMark features may stop working or may need to change.

WheelMark may not be able to import deleted, private, restricted, or unavailable Strava content. If you delete an activity or revoke access in Strava, WheelMark should stop displaying or using that Strava data after it learns of the deletion or revocation.

Data And Privacy

WheelMark's data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

In short:

  • most WheelMark product data is local-first;
  • Strava OAuth tokens are stored on device in SecureStore/Keychain;
  • the WheelMark token broker handles token exchange, refresh, and revoke, but is designed not to persist token material or Strava activity payloads;
  • WheelMark Sync is currently disabled/hidden for release unless explicitly enabled later;
  • analytics, if enabled, must be allowlisted and must not include sensitive ride, route, token, or raw source data.

Acceptable Use

Do not use WheelMark to:

  • access Strava data for anyone other than yourself;
  • scrape, bulk-export, resell, sublicense, or redistribute Strava data;
  • train, evaluate, ground, or operate AI or machine learning systems using Strava data;
  • bypass Strava authorization, rate limits, privacy settings, or access restrictions;
  • interfere with WheelMark, Strava, Supabase, PostHog, Apple, or related services;
  • upload or share unlawful, harmful, infringing, or misleading content.

Photos And User Content

If you add bike photos, names, nicknames, or maintenance notes, you are responsible for having the rights to use that content.

WheelMark may store that content locally on your device. If future sync or upload features are enabled, the app should make that clear before or when you enable them.

No Paid Digital Content Yet

WheelMark currently does not sell subscriptions, paid digital content, or paid Strava-powered access. Optional support/tip features are deferred until they are properly configured and reviewed.

If paid features are added later, their pricing, platform purchase terms, refund behavior, and any App Store rules will be explained before purchase.

App Store

If you download WheelMark through Apple's App Store or TestFlight, Apple's terms and platform rules may also apply.

Apple is not responsible for WheelMark's support, maintenance, claims, or third-party service integrations, except as required by applicable law and Apple's own terms.

Availability And Changes

WheelMark may change, pause, or remove features. Some features depend on third-party services such as Strava, Supabase, PostHog, Apple, or email providers.

WheelMark may be unavailable because of network issues, provider downtime, rate limits, app bugs, operating system changes, or maintenance.

Disclaimers

WheelMark is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent permitted by law.

WheelMark does not guarantee that:

  • imported ride data is complete or accurate;
  • maintenance reminders are correct;
  • duplicate detection is correct;
  • tire pressure estimates are suitable for every rider, tire, rim, road surface, weather condition, or use case;
  • Strava, Supabase, PostHog, Apple, or other third-party services will remain available.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WheelMark and its developer are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of use, equipment damage, personal injury, or third-party service failure arising from your use of the app.

Termination

You can stop using WheelMark at any time. You can disconnect Strava from Settings and delete the app from your device.

WheelMark may suspend or limit features if required by law, platform policy, third-party service rules, security concerns, or misuse.

Governing Law

These terms are drafted for an independent app operated from Australia. The final governing-law venue should be confirmed before public release.

Changes To These Terms

These terms may be updated as WheelMark changes. Material changes should be reflected in the app, release notes, or public website before broader public release.
